The Art of Gratitude: Learn to Make Life Grateful

”Learn to appreciate what you have before time makes you appreciate what you had.” #gratitude #thankyou

In true sense, Gratitude intends to be thankful and return kindness. In any case, in real it’s a gift to mankind. Or then again I should state the best blessing on the planet with no material engaged with it. There is the absence about feeling of gratitude in many cultures and people. You spent your whole life earning and spending money. Then why not donate freebies which can buy someone’s happiness and blessing without any cost to you. Isn’t that so? What’s more, that complimentary the gift is “Gratitude”.

Now let me share with you knowledge about the art of gratitude. I may not be perfect while explaining it or maybe you’re better than me. But I tried my best to make it a two-way communication. Therefore at the end of this post, I put a ’Gratitude Challenge’ which I’ll discuss later on.

Lessons to Learn about Gratitude

1. Three Ways to Practice Gratitude

A few days back, I listened to a podcast episode on ’The Attitude of Gratitude’ from the show ’The Be Ultimate Podcast’ by Travis Eliot. This episode describes research which shows that those who practice gratitude are much happier. Also, Travis shares 3 tips of practising gratitude.

2. Be Grateful for your Bad Times

Sometimes we could not realise the value of our struggles. We simply think whatever is going all around us is what we call bad luck and unacceptable. And once that time passes, we realise how we learned what nobody taught us. You know the story of the butterfly who struggles to come out of her cocoon to fly. If she couldn’t she would lose an existence. Also, I believe if there are no bad times, you couldn’t find a definition of good times in any dictionary. Hence, be grateful and learn from your bad times which polished you.

3. Count your Blessings

Monitor your consideration. So that you understand every once in a while that life isn’t just about taking yet additionally about giving. When you begin reviewing your thoughtfulness, you understand how much favors you win. It resembles a cycle which at that point inspires you to accomplish more generosity.

4. Meditation

Meditation

If you have already not started meditation, attempt it now. It’ll change your perception of the world. Every one of that pessimism striking a chord will change into positive musings. In the event that you don’t have the foggiest idea where to begin, here is a Free Online Daily Meditation by Mindfulness Association. you can also check some other on the web or youtube that best suits you.

5. Show Love to Your Loved Ones

Parents love

We often forget our parents who breed us without expecting anything in return.

Also our friends who helped many times in different ways. If you’re not emotional but letting them know that you care about them is not going to harm you in any way. If you’re not present with them, such an attitude can improve your image in their mind.

6. Do a Small Act of Kindness

Donation should not always mean ’a tax rebate’. In the event that you feel that you can’t give large sums, I won’t suggest it. Simply, make a habit of small donations to those who need it especially orphans or elderly or domestic help. If this is also not possible, donate what you can’t use for any reason like meals cooked in excess of clothes which don’t fit you.

At the point when I was moving to London. I gave all my new and most loved garments to the girls of my house cleaner and she was extremely glad by getting planner suits. She even expressed gratitude toward me a few times which caused me to feel better. This is the means by which it works. Help a penniless in the manner you need.

A Gratitude Challenge for You (Step by Step)

Step 1 – Start a Gratitude Journal

Writing

Your first task is to start a gratitude journal where you need to write about what you are thankful for. It’s totally up to you whether you like to write on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Also, you can choose to write in a diary or use an online app such as Gratitude Journal, Grateful: A Gratitude Journal, Gratitude Happiness Journal, etc.

For your journal writing, here are some prompts:

  • What are you grateful for in your life?
  • Write about a happy memory.
  • What an accomplishment you are proud of?
  • Write about a person that you’re grateful for.
  • What mistake or failure are you grateful for?
  • What do you love most about yourself?
  • What painful experience has helped you grow?
  • What experiences have strengthened you?
  • What fear have you overcome?
  • What are you thankful for today?

Step 2 – Prepare a List of People/Things You’re Grateful For

Once you complete the above step, start preparing a list of things or people you are grateful for and why? For example, you can write you’re grateful for your mother who breeds you or your friend who helped you in establishing your business. In case you want, you can prepare two lists, one for things and another for people.

Step 3 – Write a ’Thank-You’ Note

Now you know who you are grateful for including why you are grateful for them? You need to write a ’thank you’ letter to any one of them and send it by post. Yes, you heard it right. By post. Because nowadays nobody expects to receive a thank you letter by post. And that’s put flavour to your thank you note surprise. Also, emails sound a bit formal when it comes to sentiments.

Step 4 – Donate Something

Consider anything which you can provide for an individual out of luck. It may be tangible or intangible. By intangible I mean if you can give education to someone, that’ll also work. Afterwards, analyse how he will be benefited from it in future.

Step 5 – Volunteer in a Community

Community

If you know a good community which helps people or nature, become a volunteer of it. Then you come to know what is your role as a global citizen. There are so many NGOs, communities, online forums where you can get the opportunity to fill in as a volunteer.

I couldn’t imagine anything better than to know how your Gratitude Challenge goes. If it’s not too much trouble don’t hesitate to impart to me your bit by bit progress. In the event that you enjoyed the post, it would be ideal if you share it.

  2. Older generation were more generous and mindful for gratitude than the present. Selfishness is mostly visible in everyone’s behaviour.

Hope this parademic might made people realize the value of gratitude.
